de Laubenfels (2009). They have not yet appeared on most of the
references we consulted so
we will refrain from transferring many records until most taxonomists
adopt these as preferred names. We must point out that the links do not
necessarily lead to the preferred names of the moment, although those
will be found among the synonyms.. The taxonomy of the cypresses of the
"New World" is in a very dynamic mode and time needs to pass before the
classification is clear to non specialists.This is a very inappropriate time to
match botanical Latin to common names but one has to start sometime
anyhow.
