and an Alpinia chinensis Franchet & Savat. (now Alpinia formosana Schumann).
I would be tempted to leave it as Alpinia chinensis for the benefit of the
horticulturalists, listing Alpinia suishaensis as a modern synonym. "

Gernot's site is probably the best researched site on spices to
date. It has the other advantages of being bi-lingual ( English & German)
and particularly user-friendly, no matter which browser visitors use.
